Manila, Philippines — Humarap na bilang unang testigo ng prosekusyon si NBI Senior Agent John Mark Sta. Ana Calilung, kung saan nagbigay ito ng testimonya matapos niyang ma-authenticate ang naging pahayag ni Vice President Sara Duterte noong November 23, 2024.
Ito ay ukol sa umano’y naging pagbabanta ni VP Sara kaugnay sa pagkausap sa isang tao na maaaring pumatay kina President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez sakaling siya ay maunang patayin o may anumang mangyari sa Pangalawang Pangulo.
Si Calilung ay kabilang sa NBI Cybercrime Division Team na nagsagawa ng authentication sa mga naging pahayag ni VP Duterte sa magkahiwalay na press conferences noong October 18, 2024 at November 23, 2024.
Naunang nagbigay ng pahayag si House Senior Deputy Majority Leader at Iloilo Rep. Lorenz Defensor, isa sa mga prosecutors, ukol sa pang-apat na Article of Impeachment na nauukol diumano sa usapin ng “grave threat” ng Bise Presidente sa matataas na opisyal ng bansa.
“At the heart of the impeachment proceedings lies a fundamental question para sa ating lahat: can we continue to entrust one of the highest constitutional offices to the public official who, on multiple occasions, purposely, willfully, and repeatedly, resorted to threats of violence against the very institutions that she swore to uphold and protect,” ani Defensor.
Ang “grave threat” ay ang ika-apat na Article of Impeachment ng Prosecution Team na nakapaloob sa betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, at high crimes.
Ipinakilala ni Defensor si Atty. Armando Virgil Ligutan, isa sa mga pribadong prosecutor na siyang nag-offer ng testimonya at nag-present sa unang testigo.
