PUBLIC Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta has launched her latest work, a new book called “Laws of Life” that offers timeless lessons on faith, family, public service, integrity, and the human experience.

Held at the historic Manila Hotel, the book launch also featured an audio-visual presentation which highlighted Acosta’s journey as a lawyer, educator, legal aid advocate, author, and public servant.

It’s followed by the introduction of the book, a ceremonial unveiling of its cover, a formal book review, and the author’s response. Laws of Life presents a more personal side of the country’s chief public attorney which was quite different from her previous publications, which focused primarily on legal principles and jurisprudence.

The book is a collection of inspirational quotations, reflections, and life lessons drawn from her nearly four decades of public service, legal practice, and personal experiences.

The chief public attorney said the book was inspired by the many encounters, struggles, and triumphs she experienced while serving the Filipino people. “This book is my humble offering to the poor Filipinos. May it serve as a source of inspiration for the youth, young families, and even our senior citizens, reminding them that life’s greatest lessons are often learned through faith, perseverance, and compassion.”

As the first edition of Laws of Life reaches readers, Acosta expressed hope that its pages would inspire people to live with kindness, courage, and humility, reminding everyone that while laws govern society, it is wisdom that guides the human heart.

Published as the first edition, each quotation in the book is accompanied by a brief reflection that relates the wisdom to everyday life.

Known for her extensive legal writings, newspaper columns, and law books, Acosta said Laws of Life marks a different chapter in her writing career. Rather than explaining legal doctrines, the book seeks to share practical wisdom born from years of service, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.

Those who have already read it could only say that the lessons contained in the book were relevant not only to lawyers but also to students, public servants, and ordinary Filipinos.
