IKAKASA ang pagbabago sa resupply missions sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) matapos na masugatan ang mga Filipino military personnel sa ginawang pagbomba ng water cannon ng China Coast Guard nitong Sabado sa Ayungin Shoal.
Ipinahayag ito ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. sa ginawa niyang pagbisita sa Western Command (Wescom) sa Palawan, araw ng Martes.
Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ng AFP na “As (General Brawner) checked the status of wounded personnel and awarded those who contributed in previous rotation and reprovisioning missions, the CSAFP said that they will be implementing changes in the [rotation and resupply operations].”
Sinabi naman ni Brawner sa mga military troops na, “keep up their good work,” ayon sa AFP, nang makompleto ang
resupply missions sa WPS.
“What you are doing here has strategic implications,” ayon kay Brawner.
“The whole world is watching us so let us continue with our determination and resolve to accomplish our mission and the conduct of our RoRe operations,” dagdag na wika nito.
Sa ulat, tatlong navy personnel ang iniulat na nasaktan sa pagbobomba ng water cannon ng China Coast Guard nitong Sabado sa Ayungin Shoal.
Ito ang sinabi ni National Security Adviser Eduardo Año kung saan sakay ng Unaizah May 4 ang tatlong sundalo na maghahatid ng supply sa BRB Sierra Madre.
Ayon kay Año, matinding pinsala ang ginawang pag-water cannon ng CCG sa Unaizah May 4.
Hindi naman tinukoy ni Año kung ano ang mga tinamong pinsala ng tatlong Navy personnel na ginagamot na sa escort ship ng Philippine Coast Guard.
Ani Año, ordinaryong rotation and resupply at provision operation lang naman ang isinagawa ng Unaizah May 4 kaya nakakagalit ang ginawa ng China.
Sinasakop na umano ng China ang buong South China Sea ng walang legal na basehan.
Nabatid kay Año na ang nasirang barko ay naibalik na sa Palawan matapos na magawang mapagana ulit ang makina nito.
Tiniyak ni Año na hindi magpapatalo at magpapasindak ang Pilipinas sa walang habas na pambu-bully ng China.
Samantala, sa isang post sa X (dating Twitter), Martes ng gabi, sinagot ni Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela ang ulat sa Chinese government-supported publication Global Times, kung saan tinawag ang Maynila at Washington bilang “disruptors of stability” sa South China Sea.
“Who is intensifying the tension, advancing their unlawful ambitions with the use of provocation and bullying tactics? Who is this country that claims sovereignty over Ayungin that is obviously distant miles away from the WPS ? Who thinks they are above international law and is violating their commitment to peace and stability in the region?,” ayon kay Tarriela.
“The history and the DOC show the answers: PEOPLE’s REPUBLIC OF CHINA is the disruptor of the South China Sea stability. Remember an unshakable fact: Ayungin Shoal will never belong to a persistent liar and blatant violator of the international law,” dagdag na pahayag nito. Kris Jose
