MANILA, Philippines – Suportado ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang diplomatic action ng administrasyong Marcos kaugnay sa bagong paghaharass ng China.
Ayon kay Romualdez, tama ang naging desisyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na konsultahin ang mga opisyal ng sundalo kaugnay ng iligal na paggamit ng water cannon ng Chinese Coast Guard sa mga miyembro ng Philippine Coast Guard at dalawang bangka na maghahatid ng suplay sa mga sundalong naka-istasyon sa Ayungin Shoal.
“The President made the right decision to get the consensus of officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines on how best the government can address the latest incident in the West Philippine Sea,” paliwanag ni Romualdez.
Pinuri ni Romualdez si Pangulong Marcos sa paggiit nito ng soberanya ng Pilipinas sa pinag-aagawang teritoryo sa WPS.
“We support his position that we should continue to assert our sovereignty there and that we should defend every inch of our territory,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara.
Nagpadala na ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ng diplomatic note sa Beijing upang iprotesta ang nangyari sa Ayungin Shoal. Gail Mendoza
