MANILA, Philippines – Binayaran ng empleyado ni Senador Rodante Marcoleta ang bahagi ng donor’s tax para sa P75 milyong halaga ng donasyon sa senador, ayon sa witness na humarap sa Sandiganbayan nitong Huwebes, Setyembre 17.
Ito ang testimonya ni Field Investigation Bureau Director Maria Melinda Mananghaya-Henson sa pagdinig sa petition for bail ni Marcoleta at co-accused nito para sa P75 milyong plunder case na inihain laban sa kanila.
“The two donors’ taxes of accused Defensor and Espiritu was paid by the same person, Ebenezer Santos, who we found to be working for Senator Marcoleta,” ani Mananghaya-Henson.
“While the payment of donor’s taxes appears to come from different individuals, it is clear, based on the documents, that accused Marcoleta had a hand in the payment of donor’s taxes,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang tinutukoy ni Henson na donor ni Marcoleta ay si dating Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Michael Defensor at negosyanteng si Joseph Espiritu.
Kabilang din sa akusado sa kaso ang isa pa sa mga donor ni Marcoleta na si Aristotle Viray.
Ani Henson, sa kabila nito ay tinukoy ng mga imbestigador ng Ombudsman na mayroong sabwatan sa mga donor ni Marcoleta batay sa kanilang tax return filings para sa donor’s tax at deeds of donation.
“They all came to the same notary public in Pasig for their deeds of donation, on the same day, and they all belatedly had their deeds of donation notarized in November 2025,” aniya.
Batay sa criminal information na inihain ng prosekusyon, ang P75 milyong donasyon kay Marcoleta ay ibinigay noong Enero 2025.
Samantala, sa kaparehong pagdinig ay sinabi ni Henson na ang pag-amin ng senador sa panayam sa telebisyon noong Nobyembre 2025 na hindi niya idineklara ang campaign donations sa kanya sa hiling ng mga donor ay nagpapakita na “Senator Marcoleta was more bound to his donors rather than the law.” RNT/JGC
