MANILA, Philippines – Asahan ang big-time na taas sa presyo ng produktong petrolyo sa susundo na linggo dahil sa nagpapatuloy na tensyon sa Israel at Iran.
Sa pagtaya, inaasahan ang P2.50 hanggang P3.00 dagdag sa presyo sa kada litro ng gasolina, at P4.30 hanggang P4.80 na dagdag sa kada litro ng diesel.
Samantala, mayroon ding P4.25 hanggang P4.40 na posibleng dagdag sa kada litro ng kerosene.
Ayon kay Department Energy of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau, Assistant Director Rodela Romero, pinakamalaking salik sa pagtaas ay ang “major oil price shock looming as the Israel-Iran conflict threatens critical global shipping passage.”
Kamakailan ay sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pagbibigay ng fuel subsidy sa mga maaapektuhan ng oil price hike sa pampublikong transportasyon.
“We are starting already with the assumption that the oil prices will in fact go up and I cannot see how it will not. Because the Strait of Hormuz will then be blocked if it escalates. The oil cannot come out of its sources. So the prices will certainly be affected,” ani Marcos.
”So the subsidies that we have always given, fuel subsidies, that we gave to, if you remember during the pandemic, lalong-lalong na ‘yung mga napapasada, ‘yung mga may hanap-buhay naman sila, binigyan nating fuel subsidies,” dagdag pa niya.
