MANILA, Philippines – Nakahanda ang House of Representatives na agarang maglatag ng relief measures kasunud ng deklarasyon ng national energy emergency ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, ayon kay House Speaker Faustino Dy III.
“The House will move with the same urgency, through targeted interventions, close oversight, and real relief for our people,” pahayag ni Dy.
Ayon kay Dy, suportado nya ang naging maagap na aksyon ni Pangulong Marcos at tinuring itong “timely and necessary”.
“President Bongbong Marcos moved with urgency because the threat is real and immediate. This is about staying ahead of the crisis before it hits Filipino families harder,” paliwanag nito.
Sa pamamagitan ng Executive Order No. 110, ay isinailalim ang bansa sa national energy emergency, kung saan mayroong banta sa energy supply ng bansa dala ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis sa world market.
Sinabi ni Dy na dahil sa deklasyon ni Pangulong Marcos ay bibigyan nito ng kapangyarihan ang Kongreso na agad umaskyon at maglatag ng mga measures upang matiyak na gumagana at walang pagkadiskaril sa essential services.
“If the energy supply is disrupted, not only will the lights go out, but transportation, food, and livelihoods will also be affected. That is why we must act promptly and with full decisiveness,” ani Dy.
Kamakailan ay inaprubahan ng Kamara ang panukalang pagbibigay ng special power kay Pangulong Marcos para suspindihin ang ipinapataw na fuel excise tax.
Siniguro ni Dy na ang lahat ng aksyon ng Kamara ay nakalinya sa hakbang ng Malacanang.
