MANILA, Philippines – Malugod na tinanggap ng Department of Tourism (DOT) nitong Sabado, Hulyo 18 ang anunsyo ng Delta Air Lines na nonstop service sa pagitan ng Los Angeles at Manila sa 2027.
Ang bagong ruta ay mag-ooperate tatlong beses tuwing linggo mula Marso 28 hanggang Hunyo 6, 2027 at palalawigin sa araw-araw na flight pagsapit ng Hunyo 7.
Ito ang magiging tanging US carrier na mag-ooperate ng direct flight sa dalawang lungsod.
“More flights and more choices are good for travelers. Greater competition can help make air travel more accessible and affordable for Filipinos,” saad sa pahayag ni Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay.
“We want our airlines to grow and succeed. At the same time, we welcome more airlines and more routes because a bigger market benefits everyone — travelers, airlines, airports, tourism enterprises, and the economy,” dagdag pa.
Hanggang nitong Hulyo 18 ay nakapagtala ang DOT ng nasa 707,394 visitors mula US.
Inaasahang magpapadali sa biyahe ng mga overseas Filipino workers at Filipino-American community ang mga paparating na flight.
Ani Mathay, patuloy na makikipagtulungan ang DOT sa local at international carriers para palawakin ang connectivity at magbukas ng mga bagong market.
“For many Filipino-Americans, coming to the Philippines is more than a vacation. It is a journey home.
