MANILA, Philippines – Pinagkalooban ng National Shrine Status ang iconic EDSA Shrine, isang sikat na simbolo ng 1986 People Power revolution, ayon sa rector nito.
Inanunsyo ito ni Fr. Jerome Secillano, Rector ng EDSA Shrine sa social media post nitong Sabado.
“I extend my deep gratitude to the Bishops of the Philippines for voting unanimously to grant NATIONAL SHRINE Status to EDSA SHRINE’, sabi ni Fr. Secillano.
Ang EDSA Shrine o ang Archidiocesan Shrine of Mary Queen of peace ay simbahan ng Archdiocese of Manila na matatagpuan sa intersection ng Origas Avenue at EDSA sa Quezon City.
Kilala rin ito na Mary,Queen of peace Shrine.
Pinagkalooban din ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ang dalawa pang Marian shrines ng National Shrine.
Kabilang rito ang Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Loreto sa Sampaloc, Manila at Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Aranzazu sa San Mateo, Rizal. (Jocelyn Tabangcura-Domenden)
