MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan si anti-poverty czar Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon kay Vice President Sara Duterte na magbitiw na lamang sa pwesto sa halip na hintayin ang resulta ng impeachment trial.
“I suggest that VP Sara Duterte resign and not wait for the impeachment trial to proceed. She needs to resign so that she can still run in 2028 for presidential elections,” pahayag ni Gadon nitong Lunes, Pebrero 17.
“I want her to run because I want to embarrass the Dutertes that they no longer have the votes,” dagdag pa niya.
Binanggit din ni Gadon ang isang unverified survey na nagpapakitang may maliit na tsansa lamang na manalo si Duterte sa pagka-pangulo noong 2022, kung kaya’t pinili na lamang nitong tumakbo bilang bise presidente.
“They just keep claiming that they’re number one and so on. But actually, no. Duterte has no votes. Their votes are not enough to send a president to Malacañang,” sinabi ni Gadon.
Matatandaan na inimpeach ng Kamara si Duterte noong Pebrero 14 sa 215 miyembro na bumoto pabor sa pag-aalis sa kanya sa opisina.
Kung mapatutunayang guilty sa Senate impeachment trial, pagbabawalan na si Duterte na makaupo sa anumang pampublikong opisina. RNT/JGC
