MANILA, Philippines- Inihayag ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Biyernes na pinaigting nito ang paghahanda para sa 2025 midterm polls, kabilang ang deployment ng karagdagang mga pulis sa election hotspots.
Sinabi ng PNP na inilatag ng hepe nitong si Police General Rommel Marbil ang 100-day security plan na “prioritizes the deployment of personnel in election hotspots, the conduct of regular checkpoints, and intensified intelligence operations.”
“We are entering a critical period where vigilance and proactive policing are paramount. Our 100-day security plan is designed to ensure that every voting center is protected, every threat is addressed, and every citizen can cast their vote without fear,” wika ni Marbil.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo na bahagi ang deployment ng karagdagang security personnel sa “election areas of concern” ng kanilang paghahanda.
Nauna nang inihayag ni Fajardo na may kabuuang 403 lugar ang kasama sa listahan ng election areas of concern hanggang noong January 9.
Sa kabuuang bilang, 188 ang nasa ilalim ng yellow category.
May kabuuang 177 lugar naman ang nasa ilalim ng orange category.
Samantala, 38 lugar ang nasa ilalim ng red category.
Saklaw din ng 100-day security plan ng PNP ang heightened police visibility, strategic personnel deployment, at pinaigting na koordinasyon sa iba pang law enforcement at intelligence agencies.
Base sa PNP, tututukan din ng kapulisan ang pagbuwag sa private armed groups, pagtugis sa wanted persons, at pagpapaigting sa operasyon laban sa loose firearms.
Nagsimula ang election period noong January 12, habang kasado ang mismong eleksyon sa May 12. RNT/SA
