‘Hot springs’ namataan sa Batangas

MANILA, Philippines- Hindi pambihira ang namamataang hot springs sa Batangas, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) nitong Biyernes.

“Reports of hot springs in Barangays Sinisian and Calawang in Lemery date back even before (the) 2020 eruption. The(re) are videos on YouTube as early as 2014,” pahayag ni Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol sa isang panayam.

“Hot springs near volcanoes, in this case Taal Volcano, are mainly because of heat from magma deep inside the earth,” wika ni Bacolcol.

“The water warms up and rises back up because it gets lighter when heated and eventually comes out at the surface as hot springs,” paliwanag ni Bacolcol. RNT/SA
