MANILA, Philippines – Inaresto ng mga awtoridada ang isang barangay kapitan sa Victorias City, Negros Occidental dahil sa pagkakaroon ng iligal na armas at pampasabog sa search warrant operation nitong Biyernes ng gabi, Hulyo 17, ayon sa Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR).
Kinilala ang suspek na si alyas “Gar,” 54-anyos ng Hacienda Nasipunan, Barangay 12.
Ayon kay PRO-NIR spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong, bigong makapagpakita ang suspek ng license to own and possess firearm (LTOPF) at permit to carry firearm outside residence (PTCFOR), batay sa rekord ng Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office.
“There has been a complaint against him for illegal possession of firearms and upon verification, the police learned he does not have an LTOPF and a PTCFOR,” sinabi pa ni Malong.
Nakuha kay “Gar” ang kalibre .22 revolver na kargado ng anim na rounds of ammunition, 63 additional rounds ng caliber .22 ammunition, at hand grenade sa operasyon na pinangunahan ng Victorias Component City Police Station, kung saan ito kasalukuyang naka-detain.
“We will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations and ensure that individuals who violate our firearms and explosives laws are held accountable,” saad sa pahayag ni PRO-NIR Director Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño. RNT/JGC
