MANILA, Philippines – Handa na ang konstruksyon ng Department of Public Works and Highways sa access road na magpapabilis sa byahe patungong Managong Falls, isang tourist spot sa Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Ang P50 milyong proyekto ay sa ilalim ng Tourism Road Infrastructure Project ng Department of Tourism at DPWH na sisimulan sa Abril 15.
Maganda ang pagtingin ng mga stakeholder sa tourism industry sa Caraga region sa access road na magbibigay ng mas maraming oportunidad na lokal na komunidad, lalo na sa mga residente na pumuprotekta sa Managong Falls sa loob ng ilang dekada.
“When this all-weather road is completed, our tourist arrivals in Caraga region will surely increase,” ayon kay DOT-13 Regional Director Ivonnie B. Dumadag.
“Managong Falls is one of the region’s main tourist destinations and attraction and this newly funded road project will not only spur our tourism destinations in the region but also give economic boost to our local communities.”
Noong nakaraang taon, nakapagtala ang Managong Falls ng 2,000 same-day tourist arrivals, indikasyon ng lumalagong turismo sa lugar.
Siniguro ni DPWH-13 Regional Director Engr. Pol M. delos Santos na magsisimula at matatapos ang proyekto ‘on-time.’
“Among the economic backbone in our economy is good infrastructure, especially on road development, that is why we are enhancing our ground works to hit our target timeline in all government projects, especially those roads to economic prosperity,” ani Delos Santos. RNT/JGC
