MANILA, Philippines- Binigyan ng go signal ng Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga lokal na pamahalaan at mga pulis na inspeksyunin ang commercial buildings na saklaw ng business permits at maging ang mga residential sa kanilang hurisdiksyon upang masuri kung sumunod sa total ban ng gobyerno sa POGOs (Philippine Overseas Gaming Operations).
Sinabi ni DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla na required ang mga local government units (LGUs) na magsulat ng “No POGO” certificates sa kanilang lokalidad sa katapusan ng buwan.
“LGUs are responsible for checking all the buildings, (and utilize) the occupancy permits, the electric permits, the fire safety permits so they would have full capacity to enter all the buildings,” ang sinabi ni Remulla.
Maliban sa commercial at residential building inspections, maaari ring i-check ng LGUs kung ang may-ari ay nagbabayad ng tamang real property taxes.
Sinabi ni Remulla na nag-ooperate ang POGOs kapag mayroong available na bandwidth.
“They cannot operate in remote areas because there would be no Internet there. They have a high bandwidth requirement to be able to operate,” ang sinabi pa rin ng Kalihim.
Nilinaw naman ni Remulla na ang special economic zone areas o SEZAs ay hindi exempted sa ban sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 74 ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
“It is very clear that with EO 74, CEZA, PEZA zones are not exempted. We have no boundaries. There are no walls high for us to climb. All these areas, we can inspect,” ang tinuran pa rin nito.
“The government’s anti-POGO campaign is an ongoing thing, (it’s) forever. We will continue to be vigilant about it,” diing pahayag ni Remulla.
Aniya pa rin, ipatutupad ng DILG ang “zero tolerance” policy sa mga pasaway na local government officials sa kampanya laban sa POGOs.
“If you commit a mistake,pasensyahan tayo,” giit ng opisyal.
Samantala, sinabi ni Remulla na ang 11,000 foreign POGO workers na nananatiling ‘unaccounted for’ ang magiging ‘subject’ ng manhunt o pagtugis ng Bureau of Immigration (BI), habang iyon namang sangkot sa illegal activities ay hahabulin ng mga pulis. Kris Jose
