MANILA, Philippines – Ipinahayag ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III ang plano ng kapulisan na gawing mas mabilis at fully computerized ang proseso ng pag-renew ng lisensya sa pagmamay-ari at pagrerehistro ng baril.
Sa ngayon, kailangan pa ring pumunta sa Camp Crame ang mga aplikante.
“I will be talking to the CSG (Civil Security Group) to make the renewal and even the procurement, then the permit to carry firearms outside of residence for our kababayans to be more accessible because while it is not explicitly stated that it is a right to own firearms, it is certainly a privilege. Those interested to own and possess firearms and even carry it outside of their residence, once they pass the stringent requirements of the law, well, I see no reason for them to be denied of that privilege,” ani Torre sa sidelines ng ginanap na 3rd PNP Press Corps Invitational Shootfest sa Camp Karingal, Quezon City ngayong Biyernes.
Layunin ni Torre na gawing mas accessible ang proseso at makikipag-ugnayan siya sa Civil Security Group (CSG) upang gawing mas simple rin ang pagkuha ng Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR).
Binigyang-diin niyang bagamat hindi karapatan ang pagmamay-ari ng baril, ito ay isang pribilehiyo na dapat ibigay sa mga pumapasa sa batas.
Plano rin ng PNP na gamitin ang mga front offices ng Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) sa iba’t ibang rehiyon, lungsod, at probinsya upang matulungan ang mga aplikante sa buong bansa. Santi Celario
