MALABON City Administrator  Dr. Alexander ‘Alex’ Rosete has represented the Philippines during the Executive Program in International Relations and  Good Governance: Constructing World conference held recently in Germany where he presented the city’s strategies in improving the delivery of services to its constituents.

In his presentation, Rosete highlighted various local government‘s strategies aimed at enhancing public service delivery, promoting community engagement and fostering sustainable development.

He took pride in Malabon’s one-stop-shops and online portals to make services/processes more accessible, efficient and customer-focused and transparent.

The systems prevent the need for residents to wait for long queues, allow them to process tax payment, business renewal using their mobile devices, and reduce corruption by minimizing face-to-face interactions and paperwork,  Rosete told the conference which was attended by top business executives and the academe coming from different countries.

He cited its focus on making different city government services more accessible to Malabueños through digitalization, particularly its electronic Business-One-Stop-Shop that streamlines renewal and registration processes.

”By focusing on the needs of Malabueños, the city government which is under the stewardship of Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, the city’s first female chief executive, strives to create a thriving, resilient, and empowered community that can confidently face current and future challenges.”

A former Manila and Philippine Red Cross official, the city administrator likewise shared about the Malabon Ahon Blue Card, one of the Sandoval administration’s flagship programs, that provides financial and medical assistance to underprivileged residents, particularly senior citizens, persons with disabilities and other marginalized sectors.

Moreover, he cited the city government’s ‘Walang Tulugan Serbisyo Caravan,’ an innovative community outreach program that brings essential government services directly to the residents, especially in underserved and remote areas.

For disaster and emergency response and public safety, the city government focuses on Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management programs that prepares barangay officials and residents during calamities by providing them training and regular flood drills.

Rosete told the conference that Malabon also utilizes social media to communicate effectively with the residents, allowing the direct exchange of thoughts and feedback.
