MALABON City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval has launched the local government’s ‘Libreng Burol’ program in a bid to reduce the burden of the families of deceased Malabueños in finding a space for the wake of their loved ones.
Prior to this, program, the wife of the Father of Malabon Cityhood, ex-Rep. Ricky Sandoval, said her administration introduced the Malabon Ahon Blue Card burial and hospitalization assistance program that provides P5,000 cash assistance to the families for their medical expenses and burial concerns.
Good Riddance learned that the mayor gave the green light to make use of the chapel at the back of the multi-purpose hall along Sangciangco Street in Barangay Catmon as a place to mourn for their deceased family members.
She reiterated that the families of the deceased should coordinate with the local government if they are in need, especially when they are worrying about the proper burial of their loved ones.
Local schools get upgrade with SM’s ‘Brigada Eskwela’
SM Supermalls in Grand Central, Sangandaan, and Valenzuela have wrapped up their annual ‘Brigada Eskwela’ initiative for the school year 2024-2025, focusing on three schools – Morning Breeze Elementary School (MBES), Andres Bonifacio Elem School (ABES) in Caloocan and Caruhatan West Elem. School (CWES) in Valenzuela.
In support of the Department of Education’s Bayanihan para Sa Matatag na Paaralan, the mall’s project has brought significant improvements to school facilities and the learning environment.
It spearheaded the water re-installation project, resolving the longstanding supply problems that had hampered daily school operations and ensuring reliable access to clean water to students and school personnel.
The mall management conducted renovations at CWES and various improvements inside ABES.
Brigada Eskwela is an annual volunteer activity led by SM’s Human Resources Department in partnership with SM Cares.
Aligned with SM’s mission to be a catalyst for positive change, this initiative seeks to assist communities in creating better learning environments across the beneficiary institutions.
Local government officials were all praises for the SM Supermalls’ initiative as they cherished their solid partnership that benefits their constituents in the long run.
