NAVOTAS CITED ANEW FOR EXCELLENCE IN DISASTER RESPONSE, HUMANITARIAN AID

NAVOTAS Mayor John Rey Tiangco gave the credit to the collective efforts of the city officials, employees and local stakeholders over the latest award the city has obtained for its excellence in disaster response and humanitarian assistance.

He’s referring to the ’Beyond Compliant’ awards the city government got in the ’Gawad KALASAG’ Search for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance.

It’s the fourth time Navotas received such a prestigious award.

SGLG awardee too

For the sixth time and third consecutive year, the Navotas mayor the city has been the recipient of the coveted Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Earning the Seal of Good Local Governance six times is proof that we can achieve the highest standards of public service as long as we work together and remain united.”

”We are deeply honored and humbled by this recognition, as well as the trust and confidence our people have placed in our leadership,” he added.

‘NavoPasko 2024’

The city government has started distributing some 84, 598 ‘NavoPasko’ hams to ‘Navoteño’ families residing in the city until December 21 as part of its commitment to spreading joy and holiday cheer this Christmas season.

Together with his children, the mayor led the kickoff of the distribution, emphasizing the importance of ensuring every family feels the warmth of the holidays.

“Ang Pasko ay panahon ng pagbibigayan at pagmamahalan. Ang ating taunang NavoPasko ham distribution ay isang simpleng paraan ng pamahalaan para ipadama sa bawat Navoteño na sila ay mahalaga at bahagi ng ating pamilya dito sa Navotas.”

ICT equipment to public schools

The Navotas chief executive has turned over various information and communication technology equipment to public schools in celebration of Navotas Teachers’ Day.

Some 63 public elementary and high school teachers also received laptops to aid in lesson preparation and delivery.

Tiangco emphasized the city’s dedication to empowering teachers and ensuring that students receive quality education with the help of modern teaching tools.

“Our teachers are the backbone of education. By equipping our schools with modern tools, we ease their workload and help them teach more effectively, ensuring a brighter future for our students and our city.”
