MANILA, Philippines- Naglagay ang Philippine Coast Guard ng apat na oil spill boom segments at sorbent pads sa Puerto Princesa City Port sa Palawan nitong Biyernes upang pigilan ang oil spill.
Napigilan ng PCG response team ang spill dakong ala-1:30 ng hapon at nakakolekta ng halos dalawang drum ng langis mula sa 500-square-meter spill-affected waters.
“Coast Guard’s marine science technicians also acquired oil samples from the two vessels berthed at the Puerto Princesa City Port for fingerprinting analysis and comparison of possible spilled oil sources,” pahayag ng PCG.
Nakipag-ugnayan din ang PCG sa isang RoRo passenger vessel na umalis sa port ilang oras bago ang insidente upang makakuha ng oil samples para sa pagsusuri. RNT/SA
