MANILA, Philippines – ITINAAS ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pakikibaka at aspirasyon ng bansa sa Our Lady of Guadalupe sa isinagawang misa sa Manila Cathedral sa Intramuros, tanda ito ng pagsisimula ng pilgrimage.
Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Marcos ang Act of Consecration and Entrustment of Our Lady of Guadalupe sa makasaysayang pagsisimula ng misa sa pamumuno ni Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula.
Sa panalangin, nakiisa ang Pangulo sa mga mananampalataya na naghahangad ng proteksyon at intersesyon ng Our Lady of Guadalupe, ang Celestial Patroness of the Philippines, habang ang bansa ay nahararap sa iba’t ibang hamon.
“We have recourse to your protection, O Holy Mother of God, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Celestial Patroness of the Philippines,” ang sinabi ng Pangulo, ipinahayag ang tiwala ng mga filipino sa ‘maternal care at guidance’ ni Maria.
“You know all our sufferings and our hopes. You, who have a mother’s awareness of all the struggles between good and evil, between light and darkness, which afflict the world today. Mother of our people, accept the cry, which we, deeply moved by the Holy Spirit, address directly to your heart,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Hangad naman ng Pangulo na makalaya mula sa poot, karahasan, labanan, kawalan ng katarungan at aksyon na nagpaliit sa dignidad ng tao, habang nanawagan para sa pagpapanibago ng puso sa pamamagitan ng awa at pagmamahal ng Panginoon.
Nanalangin din ang Pangulo para sa proteksyon, tinanggap na ang poot, karahasan at labanan ang naghahati at sumisira sa mga tao.
“Embrace with the love of the mother and handmaid of the Lord, our people and our land, which we now entrust and consecrate to you, for we are truly concerned for the earthly and eternal destiny of every individual among us and for all our people,” ang winika ng Pangulo.
Ipinagdasal din ng Pangulo ang pagbabagong-anyo ng kamalayan at tagumpay ng maawaing pag-ibig higit sa kasalanan at kasamaan sa bansa.
“Accept, O Immaculate Mother of Christ, this cry, laden with the hopes and burdens, the sufferings of each one of us and of all our people. Let these be revealed once more, in our own history as a people, the infinite power of the redemption, the power of merciful love. May it destroy the power of sin and evil among us,” aniya pa rin.
Sa kabilang dako, dumalo din sa misa si Unang Ginang Liza Araneta-Marcos, bahagi ng nagpapatuloy na debosyon sa Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Ang replika ng imahe ng Our Lady of Guadalupe ay mananatili sa Manila Cathedral hanggang June 18, bahagi ng six-month Philippine pilgrimage hanggang Dec.12. KRIS JOSE
