MANILA, Philippines – Sinang-ayunan nina Senador Bong Revilla at Koko Pimentel ang hakbang ng Department of Tourism (DOT) na tapusin na ang kontrata nito sa isang advertising agency para sa promotional campaigns ng ahensya.
Ayon kay Revilla nitong Martes, Hulyo 4, sinabi niya na ipinahiya ng DDB Philippines ang Pilipinas.
Matatandaan na nitong Linggo, Hulyo 2, ay inamin at humingi ng tawad ang kompanya sa paggamit ng foreign stock footage para sa promotion video ng DOT na pinamagatang ‘Love the Philippines.’
“DOT is more than justified in terminating its agreement with DDB Philippines. DDB’s admitted oversight has caused the country embarrassment,” ani Revilla.
“We are one with the Filipino people in the indignation expressed towards the shortcomings of DDB that resulted in infirmities in the recently launched campaign of the DOT,” dagdag pa ng senador.
Samantala, ganito rin ang sinabi ni Pimentel.
“DOT is correct to terminate DDB.”
Sa kabila nito, iginiit ng senador na hindi ito dapat magdulot ng “financial damage” sa pamahalaan.
“Make sure no financial damage to the government, then move on [and] implement better screening of contractors or service providers,” sinabi ni Pimentel sa DOT. RNT/JGC
