MANILA, Philippines- Binatikos ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang ikinasang ballistic missile ng North Korea.
Sinabi ng DFA na nag-uudyok ito ng tensyon at nakaaapekto sa ekonomiya at kapayapaan sa Korean Peninsula at maging sa lndo-Pacific region.
Inihayag ng departamento na ilang beses nang nanawagan ang Pilipinas sa North Korea na sumunod sa international obligations at sa United Nations Security Council Resolution at makiisa sa mapayapang dayalogo sa Republic of Korea.
“The Philippines has repeatedly called on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), to comply with its international obligations and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and to commit to constructive and peaceful dialogue with the Republic of Korea,” ayon sa DFA.
Ang DPRK ay opisyal na pangalan ng North Korea.
Una nang kinumpirma ng North Korea na matagumpay silang nakapag-test ng bagong tactical ballistic missile kamakailan.
Sa kabilang dako, sinabi naman ng South Korea na malamang na nabigo ang second missile matapos na ilunsad, sumabog bago pa man makarating sa lupa.
“Instability in the Korean Peninsula has long worried the Philippines due to the large presence of Filipino workers in South Korea, numering to at least 60,000,” ayon sa ulat.
Ang pag-igting ng girian ay nakikitang makaaapekto sa 242,000 Pinoy sa Japan.
