MANILA, Philippines – NAG-HOST si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ng isang informal dinner para kay US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken sabay sabing mahalaga para sa dalawang bansa na pinag-usapan ang mga mahahalagang isyung pandaigdig.
“We are all familiar with the situations that you are having to deal with the world and it is extremely encouraging for the Philippines that despite all of these extremely important issues that you have to attend to that you consider the Philippines important enough to take time from all global–globally important issues to come with us in the Philippines here today,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang toast remarks sa Palace dinner, Martes ng gabi.
“As with many meetings that we have with yourself, of these officials, our meetings always cover a great deal, great regard, wide scope and as again this happened in a quick chat that we just have and this is absolutely necessary. It is important that we continue to do that,” diing pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Pinasalamatan naman ni Pangulong Marcos si Blinken at ang mga miyembro ng kanyang delegasyon, sinabi ng Chief Executive na ang naturang oportunidad ay “remain valuable and important to both our countries.”
Samantala, pinag-usapan naman nina Pangulong Marcos at Blinken ang bilateral efforts para panatilihin at palakasin ang PH-US alliance, kabilang na ang pinaigting na pagtutulungan sa kalakalan at pamumuhunan at pagsusulong na ibahagi ang democratic values.
Pinag-usapan din ng mga ito na i-promote ang “regional peace and security, defense modernization at economic cooperation.” Kris Jose
