MANILA, Philippines – Nagpaalala ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) na pormal nang inilipat sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang pagproseso sa kanilang end-of-service benefits (ESB).
Para sa mga OFW sa Middle East na katatapos lamang ng kanilang employment, o mga benepisyaryo o next-of-kin ng pumanaw na OFW, at bagong aplikasyon para sa ESB claims ay dapat na direktang ipasa sa Migrant Workers Office (MWO) sa Philippine embassy o konsulado, o kaya naman ay sa DMW head office sa Mandaluyong City.
Sa abiso na may petsang Marso 1, sinabi ng DFA na hawak na ng DMW ang lahat ng bagong ESB applications, claims, at remittances para sa mga OFW sa Middle East mula pa noong Pebrero 4.
Sinabi ng DFA na ipoproseso lamang nila ang mga ESB application na ipinasa, at ESB benefits na na-remit sa pamamagitan ng DFA o foreign service posts nito bago ang Pebrero 4.
“ESB claims already submitted to the MWO or DMW shall continue to be processed by the MWO or DMW,” ayon sa DFA.
Inabisuhan din ang mga employer ng mga OFW sa Middle East na idirekta ang mga bagong ESB remittances sa designated bank o bank account ng MWO sa pinakamalapit na Philippine embassy o consulates.
“OFWs and beneficiaries are requested to visit the MWO at their nearest Philippine Foreign Service Post for more information and assistance with their respective ESB claim,” anang DFA.
“The transfer of ESB functions to the DMW is part of the DFA’s compliance with the Department of Migrant Workers Act and to ensure seamless and efficient services for our kababayans,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
