COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Hinimok ng 10 organisasyon mula sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chair Al Haj Murad Ebrahim na tapusin ang peace process bago ang ika-50 anibersaryo ng Tripoli Agreement sa Disyembre 23, 2026.
Sa kanilang manifesto, hiniling ng mga grupo kay Marcos na kumpletuhin ang decommissioning ng mga dating combatant at lagdaan ang Exit Agreement bago matapos ang kanyang termino.
“The peace process began under President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. with the Tripoli Agreement in 1976. On Dec. 23, 2026, it turns 50. History has handed his son the chance to finish it,” ayon sa grupo.
Hiniling din nila kay Marcos na makipagkita kay Murad bago pormal na magbukas ang bagong BARMM Parliament sa Oktubre 30, kung kailan ihahalal ang chief minister at iba pang parliamentary officials.
Iginiit ng mga organisasyon na karapatan ng mga halal na mambabatas na bumuo ng coalition, ngunit hindi umano dapat maungusan ng anumang coalition ang peace agreement na naging daan para mabuo ang Parliament.
“That is their right; it is how democracy works. But no coalition is bigger than the peace agreement that made this Parliament possible,” sabi nila. “Its unfinished business must come first.”
Hiniling din ng grupo na magkasundo sina Marcos at Murad sa isang malinaw na roadmap at timeline upang matiyak na makukumpleto ang 50-taong peace pact pagsapit ng Disyembre 23.
“The Bangsamoro now has an elected parliament. The Palace itself has tied normalization to an elected government. That step is done. What remains is the last: completing decommissioning, delivering the promised packages to former combatants and their families, transforming the camps, and signing the Exit Agreement,” pahayag ng grupo.
