THE Public Attorney’s Office led by its chief, Atty. Persida Rueda-Acosta, has hailed its former ranking official who has just been proclaimed as the duly-elected mayor of a Kalinga town in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Rueda-Acosta said she and the entire PAO family were extra proud over the accomplishment of ex-PAO deputy chief public attorney Silvestre Mosing who’s now the new mayor of the municipality of Pasil following the just-concluded midterm elections nationwide.
” The men and women of the Public Attorney’s Office congratulate former Deputy Chief Public Attorney Silvestre on winning the mayoral elections in Pasil, Kalinga,” Rueda-Acosta said.
“We believe in your passion and dedication towards your continued service to the Filipino people,” the chief public attorney said.
Mosing, 61, was Associate Public Attorney II when he entered the agency in 1995 until he retired as Rueda-Acosta’s deputy chief public attorney.
She also hailed the voters of the small Kalinga town for electing Mosing as their new local chief executive saying he has been a competent lawyer and an experienced and dedicated public servant who was well-loved by his colleagues when he was with PAO.
Navotas launches P20/kilo rice program
The Navotas City government has launched its program wherein only those at the vulnerable sectors can only purchase quality rice at just P20 per kilo, Mayor John Reynald Tiangco said.
Tiangco, fresh from being proclaimed as the duly-elected winner for the second term in the just-concluded midterm polls last Monday, clarified that only those belonging to the vulnerable sectors can avail of the quality but affordable rice.
He cited in particular the solo parents, senior citizen, persons with disabilities and beneficiaries of the ‘Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino’ Program.
Each person can purchase up to 10 kilos of rice per week.
The program was officially launched at the Kadiwa Center at the City Hall and at Agora Market with an initial delivery of 75 sacks from the Department of Agriculture.
“The program aims to cushion the impact of rising food prices and ensure food security among the most affected populations,” Tiangco added.
