PBGEN. Rudecindo “Dodie” Reales arrives at the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region carrying something every young regional command needs — experience tested in different fields of police service.

His appointment is significant not simply because he is a seasoned police officer, but because his career has exposed him to intelligence, counter-terrorism, operations, finance, administration, regulation and command.

Reales served in 2019 as Chief of the Intelligence and Counter Terrorism Division of the Aviation Security Group before becoming Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division of PRO1 in 2020.

In 2022, he moved to PRO3 as Deputy Regional Director for Operations, giving him firsthand experience in directing regional police operations.

A year later, he joined the Directorate for Comptrollership as Deputy Director, broadening his expertise in finance, resources and administration.

In January 2026, he became Chief of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies, adding regulation, supervision and accountability to his leadership portfolio.

That career path explains why expectations are high as he assumes command of PRO NIR.

The young regional office needs a leader who can understand intelligence, anticipate threats, manage operations, enforce discipline and make sound decisions. Reales has worked in all those areas.

More importantly, he has consistently delivered in every assignment entrusted to him. His record shows that his experience was not merely accumulated through years of service. It was earned through responsibilities that demanded performance.

Now, Reales faces a different challenge — transforming that experience into results that Negros Island communities can feel.

His focus on returning to the basics of policing is a good starting point — police visibility, crime prevention, quick response, discipline, accountability and stronger community relations.

He inherits the gains of PBGen. Romano Cardiño, but also a bigger responsibility.

For Reales, PRO NIR is more than another assignment. It is the next test of a career built on performance — and another opportunity to deliver with flying colors.
