BEING a police officer is never an easy path and this is especially true for senior officials entrusted with both command and community welfare.

For PCol. Randy Glenn G. Silvio, the recent appointment as Officer-in-Charge of the Quezon City Police District is not just another assignment — it is a formidable challenge that will test the breadth of his experience, leadership and commitment to public service.

With Quezon City being one of the largest and most complex urban centers in the country, the role demands strategic decisiveness, discipline and compassion.

Silvio, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Kapanalig Class of 1997, is no stranger to high-pressure assignments.

His track record includes key leadership posts such as Force Commander of RMFB-NCRPO, Regional Chief of CIDG-NCR and Provincial Director of Laguna.

Among his most notable achievements was his swift and courageous response during Typhoon Ulysses in 2020, where he led life-saving operations amidst massive flooding.

This incident not only highlighted his bravery but also his deep sense of duty and humanity, rescuing hundreds — including a baby — from danger.

Since assuming his post as OIC of QCPD on April 21, 2025, Col. Silvio wasted no time in implementing accountability measures, relieving officers involved in irregularities and initiating outreach and medical services for both personnel and civilians.

Under his leadership, QCPD has intensified efforts in health, logistics, and recognition of exemplary service, reflecting a commitment not just to law enforcement but to holistic community care.

In his own words, Col. Silvio believes that a police officer must be more than just brave — he must also be compassionate and responsive, especially in times of crisis.

His actions, past and present, demonstrate a leader who does not seek praise but delivers genuine service.

As he steers QCPD through new challenges, his leadership will undoubtedly shape the district’s direction and its service to the people of Quezon City.
