MANILA, Philippines – Kinumpirma ng House prosecution panel nitong Huwebes, Setyembre 17 na inisyu ng Senate impeachment court ang show cause orders laban sa dalawang miyembro nito sa posibleng paglabag sa sub judice rule.
Ayon kay House prosecution spokesperson Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, isa sa mga recipient nito ay si House prosecutor at Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon.
Hindi naman makumpirma kung sino ang ikalawang prosecutor na nakatanggap ng kautusan.
“Right now, we are still looking at the details of what the contents of that show cause order are, so we have not yet seen, and have not yet discussed what the course of action of the prosecution panel will be,” sinabi ni Adiong.
Pinagbabawalan ng sub judice rule ang prosekusyon at depensa, mga witness, respondent at senator-judges na magkomento sa publiko patungkol sa merito ng pending na kaso.
Batay sa pinakabagong ruling ni court Presiding Officer and Senator-Judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero, ang lalabag sa sub judice rule ay haharap sa public reprimand na may admonition bilang unang parusa. RNT/JGC
