MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) nitong Lunes, Marso 10, na nakikipag-ugnayan na ito sa Office for Transportation Security (OTS) para sa pagpapalakas ng security monitoring sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) kasunod ng umano’y “tanim-bala” scheme.
Nag-isyu ang NNIC, operator ng NAIA, ng pahayag matapos na akusahan ng 69-anyos na babae na patungo sanang Vietnam, na tinaniman umano siya ng bala ng security personnel ng NAIA.
Iginiit ng NNIC na prayoridad nila ang pagpapanatili ng “safe and efficient for all travelers” na airport environment.
“To prevent similar incidents and strengthen public confidence, NNIC is working with OTS to reinforce security monitoring, proper screening procedures, and transparency in security operations,” anila.
“NNIC remains committed to working with the OTS and other authorities to provide a secure and seamless airport experience,” dagdag na pahayag ng NNIC.
Ngayong Lunes din ay inanunsyo ni Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon na inalis na sa serbisyo ang tatlong tauhan ng OTS na sangkot umano sa “tanim-bala” incident.
Inatasan na rin ni Dizon ang mga opisyal ng OTS na suriin ang mga pamamaraan sa screening at security protocols sa paliparan.
Maglalatag naman ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) ng hotline kung saan maaaring magsumbong ang mga pasahero sa kanilang karanasan sa NAIA.
“Appropriate investigations will be conducted and the proper administrative charges will be filed after the investigation has been conducted. But now we are terminating them already today. I’ve already instructed General [OTS administrator Arthur Velasco] Bisnar to issue that order today,” ani Dizon. RNT/JGC
