Hinimok ni Senador Sherwin Gatchalian ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) na harangin ang mga ilegal na online gambling websites upang maprotektahan ang mga Pilipinong gumagamit ng internet.
Ito ay matapos magbabala ang Pagcor tungkol sa mga pekeng offshore gaming site na gumagamit ng kanilang logo at pekeng lisensya.
“Pagcor’s public warning against illegal offshore gaming websites is an indication that our fight against POGOs is far from over and warrants an intensified campaign against POGO-like entities,” ani Gatchalian.
Nanawagan si Gatchalian sa pagtutulungan ng Pagcor, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), at pulisya upang harangin ang access sa mga ito.
“I strongly urge Pagcor, along with the DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology), NBI (National Bureau of Investigation), police, and other law enforcement agencies, to conduct a thorough operation to block these websites from being accessed by local internet users,” ayon sa senador.
Binanggit niya ang kahalagahan ng mabilis na aksyon para mapigilan ang panlilinlang at pagsasamantala sa online na plataporma. RNT
