TIANGCO OUTLINES FAMILY-FOCUSED AGENDA

NAVOTAS City Mayor John Rey Tiangco has laid out his administration’s priority programs particularly on health care, livelihood and education during the opening session of the 13th Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Emphasizing a family-centered approach to governance, he rallied the local legislators’ support in enacting measures that would directly benefit the city folks.

“Lagi nating tingnan ang pamilya. Ano ba talaga ang tunay na nakakapagpasaya sa kanila?” the mayor said, noting that government programs should focus on what truly matters to households.

Tiangco cited his plan to strengthen preventive healthcare through the ‘Konsulta’ program as he vowed to further step on programs on livelihood, education, safety and disaster preparedness and housing, among others.

Welcoming the new council members, he expressed gratitude to the outgoing councilors for their support in achieving key accomplishments under his first term as returning mayor.

Meanwhile, Rep. Toby emphasized the importance of public infrastructure in uplifting communities.

Navotas secures COA’s unmodified opinion for 1th straight year

Navotas has once again received an unqualified opinion from the Commission on Audit, marking the 10th consecutive year that the city earned the highest audit rating given to government agencies and local government units.

It remains the only local government unit in Metro Manila to sustain such a record for a decade.

“We thank our constituents for their trust and support. Your confidence continues to inspire us to serve with excellence,” the mayor said.

He also thanked the city hall workers as he underscored the significance of the audit rating in the context of public service.

An unmodified opinion signifies that the city’s financial statements are presented fairly, in all material respects, in accordance with government accounting standards and policies.
