Manila, Philippines- Pinaboran ng U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) ang apela ni Ai-Ai delas Alas na bawiin ang kanyang Petition for Alien Relative para sa ex-husband niyang si Gerald Sibayan.
Ipinayl ng Kapuso comedienne ang Petition for Alien Relative para kay Gerald noong Hulyo 15, 2021.
Paliwanag ni Ai Ai, “Automatically revoked” ang petisyon niya na maging permanent resident ng Amerika o U.S. Green Card holder (spouse of a legal permanent resident) ang kanyang estranged husband na si Gerald.
Nakasaad sa desisyon ng USCIS na may petsang Marso 17, 2025: “After a thorough review of your petition and the record of evidence, we must inform you that the approval of your petition has been automatically revoked.”
Ang natuklasan niyang “third party” sa relasyon nila ni Gerald ang isa sa mga inilahad na dahilan ni Ai-Ai kaya binawi niya ang petisyong maging permanenteng residente ng Amerika si Gerald. Kabilang sa plano ni Ai A ang i-dvorce si Gerald matapos matapos ntong makipaghiwalay sa kanya sa pamamagitan lamang ng viber message last October 14, 2024.
Hindi na puwedeng iapela na bawiin ang petisyon para maging permanent U.S. resident si Gerald dahil malinaw na nakasaad sa pasya ng USCIS na “There is no appeal to this decision.”
Maliban na lang kung maghain si Ai-Ai ng motion to reopen or reconsider, na imposibleng mangyari sa ngayon bilang nasaktan siya nang husto sa ginawa sa kanya ng asawa.
Dahll dito, mahihirapan na rin si Gerald makapagtrabaho sa Amerika dahil kabilang ang pagbawi sa kanyang travel at work permit sa Amerika sa mga hiniling ni Ai-Ai sa Withdrawal of Approved I-130 and Adjustment of Status letter niya sa USCIS.
“Please revoke any issued work and travel permits attached to this case.
“I also withdraw any affidavit of support issued as part of this case.”

Nakipag-ugnayan ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entrtainment Portal) sa legal counsel ni Ai-Ai na si Atty. Pia at inalam ng team kung ano ang maaaring gawin ni Gerald sa pagbawi ni Ai-Ai sa petisyon para maging permanent U.S. resident siya.
Saad ng legal counsel ni Ai-Ai: “He will not be benefitting from Ai AI’s petition.
“It is Ai AI’s prerogative as the petitioner whether to push through with the petition or not.
“Because of the pending divorce she is being truthful to USCIS about the state of her marriage. What he does after this is up to him and with regard to his immigration, he is on hs own.” Ador Saluta
