MANILA, Philippines – INANUNSYO ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang nakatakdang pagkikita at pakikipagpulong ng isang vatican official kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at mga opisyal ng simbahan ngayong linggo.
Mananatili kasi si Vatican Secretary for Relations with the States of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher sa Pilipinas ng limang araw para makipagpulong at dumalo sa ilang aktibidad.
Ang pagbisita ni Archbishop Gallagher ay unang opisyal na pagbisita sa bansa ng Vatican foreign minister sa 72-year diplomatic relations sa pagitan ng dalawang estado.
Makakapulong ni Gallagher si Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo ” to discuss areas of cooperation between the Holy See and the Philippines, such as higher education, migration governance, interfaith dialogue, and climate change.”
“The meeting will serve as an opportunity to underscore the shared commitment of the Philippines and the Holy See to the promotion of peace, human rights, rule of law, and sustainable development,” ayon sa kalatas na ipinalabas ng DFA.
Sa kabilang dako, ayon sa Vatican News, news portal ng Holy See, magpapartisipa si Archbishop Gallagher sa taunang pagdiriwang ng “Pope’s Day”, tanda ng Araw ng Kapistahan ni Apostol San Pedro at Apostol Paul sa Apostolic Nunciature sa Maynila.
Magsasalita rin si Gallagher sa plenary session ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), na isasagawa naman sa Malaybalay sa Bukidnon province.
Ihahayag nito ang turo ukol sa “Moral Governance and Ethical Leadership” bilang bahagi ng serye ng Mabini Dialogue ng Foreign Service Institute ng DFA. Kris Jose
