MANILA, Philippines – Para malaman kung corrupt o hindi ang isang opisyal ng gobyerno, naniniwala si ACT CIS Partylist Representative at senatorial candidate Erwin Tulfo na ang lahat ng government officials, appointed man o elected ay dapat ideklara ang kanilang yaman at mga negosyo.
“Every government official must disclose to the Filipino people the sources of their wealth, including the reasons for any increases over time during their term of service,” pahayag ni Tulfo.
Ipinaliwanag ni Tulfo na “transparency” sa gobyerno ang kailangan upang matiyak na walang korupsyon.
“A public official should explain how they can afford to purchase a mansion, luxury cars, or even personal items like jewelry.” dagdag pa nito.
Maging ang negosyo ng pamilya ng government official ay dapat din na ideklara gayundin ang pinagkuhaan ng kanilang kapital para sa negosyo.
“It is crucial to disclose the capital funding, especially when it involves millions, because the Filipino people deserve nothing less than full transparency regarding the lifestyle and businesses of their public officials, who took an oath to serve them,” giit ni Tulfo.
Kung tatanggi umano ang opisyal na ideklara ang kanyang yaman at negosyo ay malinaw na isa itong “red flag” na maaaring maging basehan ng Office of the Ombudsman para sa imbestigasyon.
Bukod sa elected at appointed officials ay dapat sakop din ng “transparency” ang mga barangay leaders, mga mambabatas, Pangulo ng bansa at maging ang miyembro ng police, military, cabinet at judiciary. Gail Mendoza
