MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa mga mall at may-ari ng mga establisimyento na bawasan ng hindi bababa sa 50% ang renta sa mga terminal ng public utility vehicles (PUV) upang matulungan ang sektor ng transportasyon sa gitna ng mataas na presyo ng langis.
Ayon kay Vigor Mendoza II, nagpadala na ang ahensya ng mga liham sa mga terminal owners at inatasan ang mga regional director na magsumite ng kahalintulad na apela sa kanilang mga nasasakupan.
“We have already sent letters to as many owners and managers of establishments with PUV terminals to reduce the rental fees as a way of assistance to the public transport sector,” ani Mendoza.
“The assistance that would be provided by the establishment owners will greatly contribute to easing the financial strain currently experienced by the transport sector,” dagdag pa niya.
Bahagi ito ng mas malawak na hakbang ng pamahalaan upang maibsan ang epekto ng pagtaas ng presyo ng langis, kabilang ang fuel subsidy, bawas-toll fees, at “Libreng Sakay” programs.
“The national government is continuously finding ways to cushion the effects of this challenge. On the part of each and every Filipino, let the spirit of bayanihan and malasakit prevail for us to succeed in facing this economic challenge,” ani Mendoza.
Samantala, kinokonsidera ng Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) ang pansamantalang pagsuspinde o pag-waive ng penalties sa mga loan ng transport groups sa ilalim ng PASADA program.
“The DBP may consider granting of temporary suspension or waiver of penalties on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval of the approving authorities,” ayon sa DBP.
Malugod itong tinanggap ni Mendoza at sinabing makakatulong ito upang maibsan ang pinansyal na pasanin ng sektor ng transportasyon.
