CALOOCAN City Mayor Along Malapitan led other local officials in welcoming the city’s new police chief – P/Col. Paul Jady Dadang Doles – who replaced P/Col. Ruben Lacuesta.

Malapitan was also joined by Northern Police District director Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas who officiated the turn-over of command held at the district headquarters in Kaunlaran Village, also in the city.

Throwing his support on Doles, Malapitan honored Lacuesta as he expressed his gratitude to him for serving the city for two years.

“On behalf of the people of Caloocan, I am deeply honored for Col. Lacuesta who’s been the city’s prime partner for the last two years.”

“It’s been a fruitful two years working with Col. Lacuesta. I have nothing but praise for him,” he added.

Under Lacuesta’s leadership, the mayor said the local police have been credited for the arrest of high-profile drug personalities and seizure of several kilos of illegal drugs from the series of anti-narcotics operations.

The police force under his stewardship was also the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions from various organizations and the National Capital Region Police Office in particular, said Malapitan who also cited Lacuesta several times for ‘a job well done.’

He likewise pledged the same support to Doles with regard to public safety and anti-crime campaigns.

“Welcome to the City of Caloocan, Col. Doles! The city would be expecting of your dedication and competence in leading the city police and I am looking forward to working with you,” he declared.

Doles vowed to give his best and meet the expectations of the city officials and the residents as the new police chief.

“With the assurance of support from the mayor, himself, and our NPD director, Brig. Gen. Gapas, there’s no reason that I couldn’t carry out my tasks and duty along with the men and women of the Caloocan police effectively like what my good predecessor,  Lacuesta, did,” said Doles.

The former mayor now District 1 Rep. Oca Malapitan’s son reiterated that his administration would maintain a holistic and fair approach in implementing public safety programs by cracking down on criminal elements while also making the police accountable.
