A CHILD’S learning is deeply shaped by the environment where it takes place. When classrooms are clean, bright and welcoming, students become more motivated, focused and eager to learn.
Recognizing this, HAPPINAY launched a meaningful initiative to improve education at the grassroots level through its Classroom Glow Up Project at Epifanio Delos Santos Elementary School.
The project officially transformed a basic classroom into a more inspiring and student-friendly space.
Led by HAPPINAY President Pilar Herbalorio with volunteers and partners, the effort included repainting, minor repairs and upgrading classroom facilities, creating a more organized and uplifting environment for both learners and teachers.
For Teacher Gail De Jesus, the transformation goes beyond physical improvements, becoming a source of encouragement that helps students feel valued and more excited to attend school each day while easing challenges faced by educators in delivering quality learning despite limited resources.
HAPPINAY also emphasized that meaningful change does not always require large-scale interventions, as improving basic learning spaces can already spark motivation, dignity and hope among young learners.
The group hopes to expand the initiative to more schools, ensuring every child has a classroom that inspires growth, creativity and a brighter future.
Malabon Congressman Antolin “Lenlen” Oreta III expressed gratitude to HAPPINAY for leading the Classroom Glow Up Project, saying it greatly contributes not only to improved school facilities but also to a safer, more organized and more inspiring learning environment for students.
He stressed that collaboration among organizations, volunteers and community sectors is essential in strengthening education and expanding opportunities for the youth, noting that every improvement in schools is an investment in the future of children.
