PORMAL nang nilagdaan ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) ang isang Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) kasama ang French Civil Aviation Authority para i- improve ang kaligtasan at pagiging episyente ng civil aviation sector sa bansa.
“This is to assist our agency for capacity building in improving safety and efficiency in managing the civil aviation of the country,” ayon kay Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, araw ng Martes.
“Air France is advance(d) in terms of aviation policies, aviation practices. And we are happy that the Government of France extended this assistance to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines for us to be ensured of safe flights and airport operations in the country,” ang sinabi ng Kalihim.
Inilarawan naman ni Bautista ang MOU bilang isang “very extensive cooperation” kung saan ia- adopt ng CAAP ang ‘best civil aviation practices, technological innovations, at environmental protection measures.’
Kasama rin sa kasunduan ang pagsasanay sa mga technical personnel.
Tinuran ni Bautista, tutulungan ng MOU ang Pilipinas sa paghahanda para sa paparating na audit ng International Civil Aviation Organization next year.
Para naman kay French Ambassador to the Philippines Marie Fontanel, ang paglagda sa MOU ay bahagi ng “long-standing cooperation” sa pagitan ng French Civil Aviation Authority at Philippine counterpart nito.
Ang kasunduan aniya ay nabuo noong 2018 at nire-renew kada dalawang taon. Kris Jose
