OVER 1,000 families in Caloocan City became the beneficiaries of the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) implemented by the National Housing Authority as part of the ‘Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Tapat para sa Lahat’ program in partnership with the Caloocan City government.
Mayor Along Malapitan and the city’s Housing and Resettlement Office and City Social Welfare and Development Department led key local officials in distributing the housing assistance along with NHA executives.
The beneficiary-families each received P10,000 as financial assistance to provide emergency relief for their housing expenses.
Malapitan expressed his gratitude to NHA General Manager Joeben Tai for prioritizing his constituents to receive the assistance through its EHAP.
The youthful mayor has highlighted the city government’s own initiative to strengthen local housing programs.
Maraming salamat po sa inyo,” the mayor said.
Tiangco hits Garbin
Independent Rep. Toby Tiangco has slammed Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin for evading on the real issues hounding the House leadership specifically on alleged several questionable insertions in connection with the 2025 national budget.
This after Garbin dared him to explain how the city’s flood control budget was used for the relief of its residents during the rainy season.
“I couldn’t have made any insertion since I wasn’t a member of the Bicam. All I can do is make a request and the Bicam decides,” Tiangco said.
He said what’s alarming was when Rep. Zaldy Co was able to insert P13.8-billion to some districts that didn’t even ask for it.
