MANILA, Philippines – Pinuri ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang matagumpay na pagsasagawa ng inaugural parliamentary elections sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Nakapulong ng Pangulo si Interim BARMM Chief Minister and Bangsamoro Federal Party (BFP) chairperson Abdulraof Macacua sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang kasunod ng kamakailan lamang na eleksyon.
“The meeting also discussed the way forward for the newly elected BARMM Government, including the continued implementation of development programs and delivery of essential services for the Bangsamoro people,” ayon sa Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
“The discussion likewise covered the continuation of the normalization track of the peace process to sustain the gains of peace and development in the region,” sinabi pa nito.
Prinoklama naman si Macacua bilang nanalo sa parliamentary seat, kumakatawan sa third legislative district ng Maguindanao del Norte sa first regular parliamentary elections ng rehiyon.
Ang makasaysayang unang BARMM polls ay nagresulta ng ‘no single party’ na nakuha ng absolute majority ng 80-seat parliament.
Ang BFP ni Macacua ay nakakuha ng ‘most seats’ na may 31, sumunod ang Moro Islamic Liberation Front-backed United Bangsamoro Justice Party na may 30 seats.
Winika pa ng PCO na ang makasaysayang eleksyon, na nakapagtala ng voter turnout na 84% ay “generally peaceful” sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Bangsamoro region.
“The successful conduct of the first parliamentary elections marks the completion of the political track of the Bangsamoro peace process and the region’s transition to a fully elected parliamentary government,” ang sinabi ng PCO.
Samantala, present naman sa miting sina Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, at Ministry of the Interior and Local Government Minister Jordan Bayam. (KRIS JOSE)
