MANILA, Philippines – Inihain na ang murder complaint nitong Huwebes, Pebrero 8, laban sa drayber ng sasakyan na sangkot sa fatal hit-and-run incident sa Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.
Inihain ng Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) ang reklamo laban kay Aaron Karl Tan sa Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office.
Si Tan ang may-ari ng Mazda CX-7 na may plakang YKK-161 ngunit itinanggi na siya umano ang nagmamaneho ng sasakyan na nakabangga kay Jeslar Uriel Larumbe sa Queens Road, bandang alas-6 ng umaga noong Pebrero 4.
Ayon kay Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, chief of CCPO, salungat ang testimonya ng mga saksi at ebidensya sa sinasabi ni Tan na hindi siya ang drayber ng sasakyan nang mangyari ang insidente.
“He is the prime suspect that witnesses pointed to and the evidence that we have gathered,” ani Dalogdog.
Sinabi rin ni Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson ni Police Regional Office-Central Visayas chief Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, na malakas ang mga ebidensya laban sa suspek.
“They (investigators) have already established the identity of the suspect, they have CCTVs. They have conducted tedious backtracking of CCTVs. We have eyewitnesses who identified the suspect and how the incident came about,” ani Pelare.
Dinipensahan din ni Pelare ang pulisya mula sa mga kritisismo kung bakit napakatagal bago ihain ang reklamo laban sa suspek.
“We will not compromise the quality of investigation just because there is pressure from the public, we will make sure that the one that will be charged is the one who committed the offense,” dagdag niya. RNT/JGC
