MANILA, Philippines – Aabot sa P300,000 ang halaga ng mga ipinagbabawal na paputok ang nakumpiska sa Rizal.
Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat nitong Miyerkules, Enero 1, 2025, pinakamarami sa mga nakumpiska ay ang ‘kwiton’ o malaking kwitis na sinundan ng boga at five star, ani Rizal police chief Col. Felipe Maraggun.
“We were able to confiscate more or less 1,500 polyvinyl pipes ito ‘yung boga, which is majority is being used by ‘yung mga kabataan. And nasa record natin ‘yung mga firecracker-related injury ay mga kabataan din, 15 years old below,” dagdag ni Maraggun.
Bumaba naman sa mahigit kalahati ang bilang ng firecracker-related injury sa probinsya, o 30 firecracker related injuries simula nitong Enero 1, 2025 mula Disyembre, mas mababa sa 66 noong 2024.
“The whole province is generally peaceful. Wala kaming naitalang aksidente, only firecracker-related injuries… [Dahilan nito] ‘yung aggressive police operations against illegal or prohibited pyrotechnic devices,” ayon pa kay Maraggun. RNT/JGC
