MANILA, Philippines – Itinakda ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang maximum na P60 cap sa booking at platform fees sa mga passenger taxi sa digital platforms.
Sa pahayag nitong Sabado, Hulyo 18, sinabi ng LTFRB na inaprubahan nito ang Memorandum Circular (MC) 2026-055, na nagtatakdang ang authorized booking o platform fee na maaaring singilin ng mga taxi sa digital o online platform ay dapat na 20% ng inaprubahang rate o hanggang P60.
Ang mas mababang singil ang susundin.
“No additional booking fee, convenience fee, service fee, platform surcharge, or similarly denominated charge beyond the foregoing authorized amount shall be imposed or collected without prior approval from the Board,” sinabi sa MC.
Ipinagbabawal sa MC ang pagpapataw ng unauthorized booking fees o kaparehong singil, misrepresentation of charges, koleksyon ng overlapping booking-related charges, pagsisingil sa passengers fees na hindi lumilitaw sa resibo, at iba pa.
Dapat ding sabihin ng taxi operator ang lahat ng fare components bago ang booking.
Ang MC ay epektibo kasunod ng pagkakalathala nito sa pahayagan na may general circulation.
“There is a need to establish clear and uniform rules governing the imposition, computation, disclosure, and collection of booking or platform fees in order to ensure transparency, protect the riding public, and maintain fair and reasonable transportation charges,” saad sa bagong MC.
Sinabi ni LTFRB chairman Vigor Mendoza na ang bagong memorandum ay applicable sa lahat ng taxi unit sa online platforms.
“Any operator, platform provider, or driver found violating the provisions of this Circular shall be subject to the appropriate administrative sanctions, including fines, suspension, cancellation of franchise, accreditation, or other penalties under existing laws, rules, and regulations,” sinabi ng LTFRB.
