MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. nitong Sabado, Hulyo 18 na walang naganap na pag-recall sa defense attache ng Pilipinas sa Beijing.
Ang pagpapauwi sa opisyal ay ginawa para sa konsultasyon kasabay ng pagsusuri ng Department of National Defense (DND) sa lahat ng overseas defense attaché posts nito sa ilalim ng bagong engagement framework.
“We are reviewing all the posts of all defense attachés. If they meet our requirements, we will continue them. If not, we will close them. It’s a waste of funds, too,” sinabi ni Teodoro.
Sakop ng review ang lahat ng overseas defense attaché posts, at hindi lamang sa opisina sa Beijing.
“We will look into it, we will review their performance and objectives. If it doesn’t align with us, we will close it down, no matter where it is located,” dagdag pa. RNT/JGC
