MANILA, Philippines- Hinimok ng Pilipinas nitong Biyernes ang mga partido sa Israel-Hamas conflict na agad bumalik negotiating table matapos ang Israeli airstrikes sa Gaza, kung saan mahigit 400 indibidwal ang nasawi.
Ayon sa ulat, inilarawan ng Israeli military ang pag-atake nitong Martes bilang “preemptive offensive” na nilalayong pahinain ang abilidad ng Hamas na maglunsad ng pag-atake laban sa Israel.
Tinarget umano ng Israel ang “mid-ranking military commanders, leadership officials, and terrorist infrastructure” na pagmamay-ari ng Hamas, base sa ulat.
Kasunod ang pag-atake ng palyadong pagsisikap na magkasundo sa extension ng ceasefire na napagkasunduan noong January 19.
”The Philippines is gravely concerned over Israel’s latest offensive in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the tragic loss of more than 400 Palestinian lives, including over a hundred children, as well as more than 500 injured,” pahayag ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
”We urge all sides to refrain from escalating the violence and to immediately return to negotiations toward a more permanent ceasefire. We call on all parties to adhere to their obligations under international law, with particular emphasis on the protection of civilians, and for the unconditional release of all hostages,” dagdag nito.
