PNP READY FOR ELECTORAL VIOLENCE – MARBIL

FLASH – Three cops are going around Quezon province, collecting payoffs from vice lords and name-dropping Gov. Helen Tan and our dear friend, Police Provincial director Col. Ruben Lacuesta.

This will surely affect the candidacy of Tan, who is running for re-election, and the clean image of Lacuesta, who has been a close ally since his time as police chief of Caloocan City.

I am referring to one Sgt. Anos, a certain Sgt. Baste—both active members of the Philippine National Police—and one Sgt. Jimmy, who was recently dismissed but still introduces himself as a police officer.

Tan and Lacuesta should act accordingly before these three cops completely tarnish their reputations.

Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil issued a stern warning to those planning to intimidate voters and disrupt the peaceful conduct of the coming midterm election.

“To those seeking to sow fear or use violence for personal gain—this is your final warning. We will enforce the full force of the law to protect our democracy,” he stated, stressing the PNP’s commitment to a peaceful election process.

Marbil directed police commanders at all levels to ensure a secure and orderly election.

“Our commanders must act swiftly and remain neutral in the face of any threats,” he said, emphasizing proactive measures against election-related violence.

The PNP is on heightened alert, particularly in identified hotspots, with enhanced intelligence, increased police presence, and close coordination with the Commission on Election and Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The PNP has established police assistance desks at campaign venues, deployed additional personnel to critical areas, and stationed quick reaction forces.

“We are ready,” the chief PNP affirmed, also warning against any police involvement in partisan politics. He urged candidates and supporters to lead by example and adhere to election laws for a fair and peaceful process.
