MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan si Senador Grace Poe sa paglikha ng isang alituntunin at sandata upang matiyak na etikal, inklusibo at makabago ang Artificial Intelligence system sa Pilipinas.
Sa kanyang pagsasalita sa Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce, sinabi ni Poe na mas kailangan ngayon ang pamamahala habang patuloy na inaantala at bianbago ng AI ang negosyo, industriya at kahit sa loob ng tahanan.
“Alam kong may batas na ngayon na ipinanukala sa Senado. Pero nakabinbin pa rin. Mahalaga ito na hindi lamang dapat o kaagad maisabatas nang walang aktuwal at akmang konsultasyon,” ayon kay Poe,
Pero, aniya mas maraming sagabal ang bagong teknolohiya na hindi dapat over regulated at supilin,
“But definitely AI has to be somewhat regulated because, for example, we know that they use AI now to impersonate people and to scam people. But we also use AI in research and many other ways by which we are able to improve our lives. So all of these considerations have to be balanced before we can pass a law that can address AI,” ayon kay Poe.
Sa naturang event, pinasalamatan din ni Poe ang Indian-Filipino community sa kanilang kontribusyon sa paglago ng ekononiya at pagpapaunlad ng lipunan ng ating bansa.
Binanggit din ni Poe ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa isang kompanyang Filipino at isang Indiano, ang Megawid at GMR na matagumpay na nakapaglikha ng world-class Cebu-Mactan International Airport.
“We have also seen that many Indians are natural entrepreneurs. They create jobs and, of course, they’re a peace-loving group here in our country. We need to continue to encourage more of them to come in and invest here, especially with the passage of the Public Service Act,” ani Poe.
Tumagong chairperson si Poe ng Senate Committee on Public Services, na nagsulong sa pagsasabatas ng Republic Act (RA) 11659, na inamendahan ang lumang Public Services Act
Nagkaroon ng liberalisasyon sa ilang sektor dulot ng naturang batas tulad ng telecommunications industry, na mas pinayagan ang partipasyon ng foreign investment.
“We believe that opening up the economy to more players will encourage competition which will spur efficiency and give consumers better choices,” aniya.
“With these policies in place, it is hoped that more Indian enterprises will make the Philippines an investment destination of choice,” giit ni Poe. Ernie Reyes
