THE year 2026 opened with clear direction for Police Regional Office 5. Policing must be fast, honest and genuinely felt by the people it serves.
This guiding principle, “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman”, has moved beyond a slogan and is steadily shaping how police service is delivered across the Bicol Region.
That direction was firmly set during the first Command Conference of the year where PBGen Erosito Miranda laid out a roadmap focused on stronger leadership, strict accountability, and service that responds to the real needs of communities.
He emphasized that police work in Bicol must go beyond arrests and statistics.
What truly matters is public trust, earned through transparency, discipline and constant presence in communities, especially in far-flung and vulnerable areas.
PBGen Miranda envisions a Bicol Region where police stations are approachable, response times are faster and officers are known not only for enforcing the law but for listening to the people.
He has stressed the importance of ethical policing, internal discipline and unity of command to ensure that every action taken by PRO5 reflects professionalism and respect for human rights.
This vision is closely aligned with the focus program of Philippine National Police Acting Chief Lt. Gen Jose Melencio “Tateng” Nartatez Jr., particularly in strengthening police operations while keeping communities at the center of public safety efforts.
Early results show strong momentum. In the first week of 2026, PRO5 recorded major accomplishments against illegal drugs, loose firearms, illegal gambling and environmental violations.
Wanted persons were arrested, former insurgents surrendered, and dangerous weapons were recovered, contributing to safer communities across the region.
These achievements send a clear message. PRO5 is serious about protecting lives and livelihoods.
As the year unfolds, the goal remains clear to build a Bicol Region where peace is lasting, justice is fair, and police service is not only seen but truly felt by every Bicolano.
